Do you think I could successfully do this painting with tempera paint?

I was wondering if it’s possible to do this painting with tempera paint

I would use acrylic, but you could use oil. Acrylic will dry faster, is non-toxic, water soluable and odorless. Oil paint has longer workable time, but it stinks and cleanup is a chore.

If you already have the tempera, you can try it out on an old cardboard box and see how you like it. But if I didn’t have it I would not buy it for this project.
