Why are vertical fore-grip handles illegal in some places to install on a gun? What advantage does it provide?
I couldn’t believe when I heard that in certain areas it is illegal to have one of these. It’s like people are making laws just because they can. eg: no mickey mouse stickers. spongebob is allowed as long he’s blue. Thanks for reading.
The main answer is because many politicians are hung up on the cosmetic look of a gun vs. what it can actually do. That is why many states and cities ban things like flash hiders/muzzle breaks and other purely superficial things that make a gun look like a “scary assault rifle.” I live in CA, where the idiots here try to ban everything, and the number one bad guy gun is the “assault rifle”. Never mind that I can get off almost as many rounds as quickly with a good lever-action or M-1 Garand, no it’s those nasty “black rifles” that have to be banned. It is stupidity and ignorance, nothing more.
Sorry Nerdcore, but you are incorrect in stating that the foregrip has much effect on accuracy or controlability- simply not accurate. I can shoot my m-4 variant and every other long gun I own or use for work as well if not better without the foregrip, since I learned to shoot way before vertical foregrips were popular. I can also rack a shotgun as fast with ot without the vert grip, so the foregrip really adds little to the ability to “shoot faster” or more accurately. In many cases, they are a crutch for a poorly trained marksman, and they don’t make a bad shooter a better one, IMHO.
