The Art Of Wrapping Gifts
Gift giving is a way of showing the recipient how the giver feels for him of her. This is one reason why many gifts are personalized items which are chosen for the recipient by the giver. Aside from the gifts themselves, the wrapping and the way the gifts are wrapped can also express a lot. Many stores offer gift wrapping for free or for a small fee if you are too busy to wrap up your gift. There are also some ready made carrier bags which are made for containing gifts for those who are really pressed for time.
The art of gift wrapping is an absolute joy to learn. There are no limits to the things that you can add to the gift when your imagination is in charge. There are some factors that you need to consider regarding gift wrapping, these include but are not limited to the season, the recipient’s preferences, the occasion and gift itself. Wrapping the gift is a lesson in common sense although there are wrappers that will need transparent tape or double sided tape for better adhesion.
Choosing the Wrapper
Choosing the wrapper for gifts can be tricky especially if you prefer a non generic one that does not state the obvious occasion. Wrappers for an anniversary gift or a birthday gift can have the words happy birthday or happy anniversary emblazoned on them. While these kinds of wrappers are very convenient, some givers prefer the plain wrappers that can be adorned with whatever decoration they like.
One way of choosing a gift wrapper is considering the gender of the recipient. Gifts for females usually have wrappers in pink or any other girly color such as red, purple or lavender whereas males usually receive gifts wrapped in blue or green. For those who like to add decorations and other embellishments to their gifts, it is best to use plain wrapping paper to be better able to utilize the beauty of the decorations or embellishments.
Decorations And Embellishments
Ribbons are not the only way to decorate or embellish gifts. Some scrapbook items or embellishments are easy to apply on either the gift wrapper itself or on the ribbon around the gift. Some other items that can be added to gifts as decorations are dried leaves or flowers, fake holly, fake berries and other smaller Christmas decorations, especially for Christmas gifts and other gifts for the Christmas season. Sequins of all shapes, sixes and images can also be added to the gifts to emphasize their beauty.
