my instead menstrual cup keeps sliding down and becomes uncomfortable (a new problem) can I help this somehow?
I can’t use tampons without getting cramps, I swim too much for pads and I won’t always have an opportunity to rince a reusable product… but after over a year of using instead I started having problems where it always slides down into my vagina and it’s compressed shape there presses out on the walls, and feels *very* odd. what can I do or try? Could this be because I lost my verginity? HELP!!!
Loosing your virginity would have no affect on the use of softcups at all, loosing your virginity doesn’t do anything to the shape, size or function of your vagina, I’d say you have probably just gotten too used to using them so you are not inserting them as you would have done when you first started using them, so I’d suggest going back to softcup-use-101 and follow the instructions exactly to ensure you’re inserting correctly again. The softcup shouldn’t be pressing against the walls of your vagina as it is inserted above your pubic bone, so that does suggest you are not putting the cup in high enough to hook over your pubic bone.
I would also suggest using re-usable menstrual cups if softcups are not working for you any more – remember menstrual cups only need to be removed and emptied every 12 hours, and you don’t always need to rinse them off – if for some reason you need to empty your menstrual cup in pubic bathrooms (rather than toilet at home or emptying in the shower) then you can just empty and re-insert without risk, you can use toilet peprer or baby wipes to wipe off, or carry a bottle of water into the bathrooms with you. A lot more convenient than using softcups and not as likely to cause problems with insertion or leaking.
