Painting Set

3 of the top UK Artists ever

There are a vast range of British painters and sculptors and these are 3 of the biggest artists.  They are Beryl Cook, John Vettriano, and Doug Hyde.

Beryl Cook

The birth of Beryl Cook’s first child also marked the start of her artistic skills in the field of painting.  Art started out as a hobby for Beryl Cook, as it was something that she did for fun and this has helped to shape her attitude to her materials.  As a result Beryl used her child’s basic paint set instead of professional art supplies.

Beryl Cook’s art takes in everthing that is around all of us.  She has put onto canvass, the very things that we all do do everyday.  Beryl Cook has been very observant of the happenings around her.  Fans of Beryl Cook prints have frequently let it be known that this is the reason they love her work and this could also be the reason she has come under fire from certain art critics.  Some of her artwork, including Cruisin’, which portrays what the people are doing whilst on a cruise.  Another painting called The Art Class shows the day to day life of art students studying.  For an everyday life of a tennis player, Beryl Cook portrays the players shaking hands after a game, emphasizing challenges, winning and losing as a part of our daily lives.

Doug Hyde

Doug Hyde is a very promising, up and coming UK artist.  Doug Hyde is unlike other artists as he started painting at a young age and has been educated in artistic techniques and styles.

Doug Hyde is extremely innovative in his artistic style, as he paints with his hands to create his artwork.  Using pastel, he paints according to his emotions and moods.  This is Doug Hyde’s way of putting emotion in to his pieces.  Modern art critics love his style because of the personal touch of his work.

Jack Vettriano

Another slow starter is Jack Vettriano, someone who tapped into his creative side at a later age.  Despite this Jack Vettriano prints have grown to become popular among both fans and critics.   Jack Vettriano did however start life as a miner before doing a dramatic U turn and becomming an artist.

Jack Vettriano’s art appears to make fun of aristocracy and high society by placing them in strange situations.  The Jack Vettriano print that is best known is The Singing Butler, in which a couple is accompanied by their butler and maid on a beach.  Another is the Yesterday’s Dreams painting, this shows a sophisticated lady who is staring out of a window.  Turneresque showcases 3 couples that are dancing, a frequent theme in Jack Vettriano’s work much like romance, sensuality, and elegance which are often found in his work.
